Results of elections to the BUT Academic Senate

In the elections to the BUT Academic Senate for the election period of 2020-2023, which took place online on 3 and 4 November, Petr Hanáček (60 votes) and Jiří Jaroš (50 votes) were elected as representatives of academic staff. Students elected Viktor Konupčík as their representative (361 votes). Ondřej Ondryáš was elected in the by-elections to the Student Chamber of the Academic Senate of FIT BUT.

FIT is part of an emerging artificial intelligence platform

The Faculty of Information Technology is one of the initiators of the new Brno-based artificial intelligence platform - Brno.AI. Its purpose is to offer the opportunity for companies, universities and public administration to meet and connect and thus create an open community that will help bring AI into the real world. On Wednesday, 11 November, the historically first meetup took place, during which the participants could learn about opportunities for new AI projects, practical examples of the use of artificial intelligence and successful research projects. Vítězslav Beran, Senior Lecturer and Vice-Dean of the faculty and one of the guests of this online event introduced the most interesting people from FIT. The event was organised by the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC) in co-operation with other partners.

Od nápadu k produktu: online seminar with Martin Kešner

Where to get the funds to start a new business? What are the success factors and what are the common mistakes of new entrepreneurs? Martin Kešner answered these and other questions in the second online seminar "Od nápadu k produktu" (From Idea to Product) within the Startup Booster programme. It is intended for all students who are interested in how to start and develop a business. Results of the "Best Teacher at FIT according to the Students’ Evaluation"poll for the year 2019/2020

The awards for best teachers at the faculty will go to Dana Hliněná for Bachelor's study programmes and Jiří Jaroš for Master's study programmes. These two teachers have received the most votes from students in the best teacher survey for the academic year 2019/2020. Tomáš Milet and Jan Černocký for Bachelor's study programmes and Milan Češka and Tomáš Vojnar for Master's study programmes also received many votes. The competition was announced in May by the Rector of BUT with the support of the Academic Senate; complete results can be found HERE.

Espressif Systems became FIT's new industrial partner

The hardware company Espressif Systems has become a new industrial partner of FIT. Shanghai-based company with a development centre in Brno, will co-operate with the faculty on research in the field of security, wireless solutions, robotics and image processing, and it will also share its knowledge of development on its platforms with students.
