Abstract

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is one of the current trends in software
engineering. This architecture allows design of a distributed information system
as a network of communicating services. It puts emphasis on correct,
user-oriented, decomposition of the system.

At the Faculty of Information
Technology Brno University of Technology, students can get basic knowledge of
specification and design of software systems in several subjects in bachelor's
and master's degree programs. However, none of the programs explain SOA
architectures.

The aim of the project is to give knowledge of SOA
architectures and methods and tools of design information systems as the SOA
architectures to students of the master's degree program. The project will result
in appropriate textbooks and supporting background.
