The paper focuses on the evaluation of the touch voltage measured during a series of experimental measurements performed in a compensated 22 kV distribution network equipped with an automatic system for the additional earthing of the affected phase. During the experiment, a metallic earth fault was artificially created in selected distribution transforming substations. Two different network extents were tested, a basic one - 300 A - considered by Czech technical standards as a limit value for operating a mixed distribution network and an extent of 800 A representing a maximum value of the tested network. The paper analyses the level of touch voltage with respect to the technical standards in force as well as with respect to the voltage of the increase of the substation potential during the fault for 300 A and 800 A and assesses the influence of the additional earthing of the affected phase on the level of touch voltage.
