Photoacoustic Tomography Using the k-Wave Toolbox
photoacoustic tomography, image reconstruction, k-Wave,
Photoacoustic tomography (PAT) creates a 3D image using data obtained by capturing acoustic waves generated by a light absorption inside an illuminated tissue. This data tends to be incomplete and sub-sampled. Our solution to this problem is to use a variational image reconstruction technique which requires repetitive evaluation of both the forward acoustic simulation and its adjoint simulation. It is crucial to limit an overhead of each of the simulations and their coupling to provide the resulting image of an initial acoustic pressure in the tissue as fast as possible.
This poster presents computational cost of a single image reconstruction on the Salomon cluster.
