One of the Ways How to Make RIB Distributed
Resource Information Base, RIB Daemon, RAFT, synchronization
Recursive InterNetwork Architecture (as an alternative to TCP/IP) promises far more scalable and distributed by design computer networking. Resource Information Base is among foundation stones of RINA because it provides distributed storage of data. RINA reference model mentions RIB features and a unified protocol for handling RIB content, while any implementation details are omitted to make description independent of technologies. This paper introduces one of many possible implementations how to achieve RIB synchronization, which is based on Raft consensus algorithm. The result is developed in the frame of RINASim (one and only RINA discrete-event simulator) and the paper investigates achieved results.
