An Evidence of Pedagogic Activities

The paper presents an information about an evidence of pedagogic activities at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FEECS) of the Brno University of Technology. The evaluation of individual pedagogic activities is given by a system of "credit hours" (CHs) at the FEECS. Every category of pedagogic staff has given its minimal academic-year norm in CHs. The total department's CHs sum is one of basic criteria from which the financial support of a department is derived. At the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, a database application under Open Access 4 database management system is implemented which makes possible to obtain information which serves to plan a pedagogic load of staff, to check a real load and performance, and finally at the end of an academic year, it gives total department's CHs that are provided to the dean's office as a base to fix a financial support to the department. Based on our experience with the use of the application, a new prototype is being developed as a BSc Project under SQL Base. It is intended not only to include some improvements but also to implement some models of a student-teacher proportions developed at the Military Academy of Brno.
