Abstract

This article is the supporting paper for the minicourse on Object-Oriented Databases. It deals with the term object model in the first part. It continues in explanation of the term object as a structure with identification. Next part describes relationships and inheritance including their attributes. Nevertheless, the main focus is devoted to the explanation of basic features of the object-oriented database systems. Some selected commertial and published OODBS are mentioned in the final part of the article.
