Hierarchical and Time Extensions of Pure Object Oriented Petri Nets
Petri nets, object orientation, time extensions of Petri nets, hierarchy in Petri nets, simulation and modelling
The aim of this article is to suggest a suitable way of combining pure object oriented Petri nets (OOPNs) connected to the language PNtalk with hierarchical and time constructions. Incorporating substitution transitions and fusion places into OOPNs is discussed, together with its advantages in the area of modelling. Further, the concepts of delay and firing time are introduced into PNtalk here. Terms like age memory policy, enabling memory policy, or single and multiple server are adapted for the environment of OOPNs. However, not only stochastic time extensions are taken into account, but also time extensions suitable for evaluating real-time properties are covered.
