Abstract

This work is engaged in the problems of vowel recognition in the continuous speech via neural networks. Today problems, a way of the speech generation, speech parameters and methods and algorithms used to speech analysis and recognition are described here. Next the Backpropagation neural network, RCE network and Kohonen neural network (SOM - the Self Organised Map) with the LVQ methods are discussed. In the last part of the thesis are described the application of the vowel recognition, the results and a summary.
