Determining Location of Target Within the Indoor Location System
indoor location system
Recent advances in the area of electronics have significantly contributed to the ubiquitous character of wireless sensor networks. The importance of such kind of communication paradigm can be demonstrated by the growing number of its adoptions through the industry and consumer sector. Many real-life sensor network applications require location awareness which represents the ability to determine the position of a given object or trace its movement. This paper deals with the convenient techniques designated for a target node localization or discovery within the indoor location system. First part of this paper investigates the technical background and constraints that have an impact on wireless sensor networks performance. Subsequently, the attention is given to various methods that could be used for the purpose of indoor applications targeting. The reliable system has to be adjusted for a particular deployment scenario which may involve combination of various localization or tracking methods. Analysis of the individual methods and their implications will be provided. The last part contains proposition of the intended application case for indoor localization by means of wireless sensor network.
