On Properties of Basic Building Blocks for Printable Polymer and Nanometal Logic
inkjet printed electronics, organic electronics, inkjet printed TFT model
Polymer or organic electronics becomes a focus of intense research and development in recent years. Thin-film field-effect transistor based on organic materials is very simple structure, thus it can be easily manufactured using inkjet printing technique. Today, first implementations of logic gates and some simple logic circuits using inkjet printing of organic materials are proposed. Parameters of these circuits seem to be promising, but it needs some more work to achieve parameters competitive to ordinary electronics. In this paper, some results of simulations with known and new implementations of basic logic gates based on printed TFTs will be shown. A model of organic printed transistor developed in accordance to published and known parameters will be presented. The model will be used to simulate basic digital circuit building blocks i. e. logic gates. Parameters of these gates will be investigated from a digital circuit designer's point of view.
