This new communicative course - Spanish for Beginners - will offer practising pronunciation,basic grammar,conversation in everyday situations,reading and listening.Original Spanish textbooks,audio- and videocourses will be used in classes.

Subject specific learning outcomes and competences
The student will get knowledge of basic Spanish grammar. The student will be able to use basic vocabulary. The student will be able to understand simple statements in Spanish and communicate Spanish in everyday life. The student will be able to understand simple written texts with use of dictionary.
Learning objectives
The students will acquire knowledge of elementary Spanish and they will be able to have conversation in past, present and future tenses. They will able to communicate in shops, restaurants and in other everyday situations. This will be practised via audiovisual recordings or role play in class. The students will learn how to react to Spanish speakers.

Progress assessment
75% attendance , active participation at classes, fulfilment of given assignments and a credit unit in written form ( pass mark 50%).
Teaching methods and criteria
Teaching methods combine active participation in classes (conversation, role play, practising grammar and vocabulary,use of audiovisual means, and regular testing of previous knowledge) with homework - self-study.
