Subject specific learning outcomes and competences
An overview of wide spectrum of various information systems. Detailed knowledge of modern method for design and implementation of information systems oriented to economic and government applications. Methodology of design and implementation of information system.
Learning objectives
Based on the knowledge of information system on the bachelor level to expand this knowledge of information systems and technology of their development.
Why is the course taught
Efficient access to information is crucial not only in business management, but in virtually all areas of human activity. Information systems represents one of the oldest and the most used applications of information technology. Considering the volume and complexity of the related data and processes, the key aspect in the information system design and implementation is a well chosen data representation, analysis and representation of the related processes and the choice of the overall architecture and implementation technology. The course extends the general knowledge from the bachelor study by advanced data and process models and practical mastering of the modern server and client technology with focus on large-scale systems.
