Wireless and mobile networks. Analog. system NMT and digit. system GSM, GPRS, UMTS, EDGE, LTE, 5G.

Subject specific learning outcomes and competences

Students shall be acquired knowledge about the structure of communication network used for transmission of calling, data and pictures and technology of transmission information in them used.
Student acquires presentation and communication capabilities.

Learning objectives

The purposes of subject is acquaint students with types and structure communication networks designated for transmission calling, data and picture and theories of information transmission used in them.

  2. Transfer medium types and characteristics
  3. Theory of transmission systems. SDH and PDH.
  4. Link-layer protocols. Flow control. Transparency. Numbering of the frame. The HDLC Protocol.
  5. Integrated services of digital networks - ISDN. ISDN protocols, accesses, and interface standards.
  6. DSS1 and CCS7 signaling protocols.

Progress assessment

A mid-term exam evaluation and laboratory protocols evaluation.

Controlled instruction

Scored active participation in laboratories. A possibility of replacement only in case of objective and proven obstacles in the study.

Exam prerequisites

Obtaining min. 15 points for scoring activities during the semester.
