Learning objectives
The course checks students from knowledge of general English, but also from the vocabulary, grammar, and functions necessary to be operational in professional and social situations.
Why is the course taught
The course will enable students who are unable to have their English recognised but have sufficient knowledge to pass the B1 level exam and meet the compulsory English language requirement without tuition. The exam tests the vocabulary, language functions and speaking skills necessary for active participation in seminars, lectures and other activities in future careers.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The course is for students who have scored at least 51 on the initial language placement test, have sufficient knowledge to pass the English exam without tuition and do not wish to continue studying at a more advanced level of English.

Progress assessment
Final exam:
30% - reading - evaluates and assesses the abilities to work with a written text, abilities to analyze, synthesize, paraphrase, organize and reproduce information from the text.
30% - listening - evaluates and assesses the abilities to understand spoken English, abilities to analyze, synthesize, paraphrase, organize and reproduce information from the listening.
