Digital Image Processing and Analysis
ZAO Acad. year 2003/2004 Summer semester 7 credits
Elements of visual perception. Methods and means of image data acquisition. Continuous and discrete imge representation. Image enhancement: contrast transforms, sharpening, noise suppression. Image restoration: types of distortion and interference, point and local correction, generalised inverse filtering, Wiener filter. Reconstruction of images from tomographic projections. Compression of image data - lossless and lossy. Elements of computer vision: edge detection, boarder and area detection, movement analysis, stereoscopic analysis.

Insight into methods of digital image processing as a generalisation of signal processing methods. Gainig practical experience with digital image processing.
