An information system as a special case of a system. Kinds of information systems OLAP and OLTP. History of information systems. The technology of information system with a relational database system building. Internet type of information system. The technology of client and server programming (JavaScript and PHP). The technology of XML language.

Learning objectives
To obtain a common overview of information system branch. To get a basic knowledge of information systems based on the relational database technology. To get a basic knowledge of communication part of IS based on internet technology.
Ability to model especially economic reality in the information system. Ability and knowledge to implement information systems under database technologies in the internet environment.
Why is the course taught
Efficient access to information is crucial not only in business management, but in virtually all areas of human activity. The course provides a comprehensive overview of methods of analysis and design of information systems, as well as current technologies used for their implementation.

- Design of an information system according to the specification
- Implementation of the designed system on a specified platform
Progress assessment
- Midterm test - 19 points
- Project - 30 points
- Final written exam - 51 points, at least 20 points required
- At least 25 points must be obtained during the semester
Midterm exam, the realization of a project in due dates. In the case of a reported obstacles to submitting the project, the student will be allowed to submit the project in an alternative date.
Exam prerequisites
At least 25 points obtainable during the semester.
